Can't install due to newer version

Hi, I hve flown on the past using I'm sure kACARS_Free. But since had a PC failure, took some time to rebuild etc etc. Now I want to continue here but I can't install the acars system on my PC. I fly for another VA using kACARS_Free but it's a newer version. So this version wont install no matter where I direct the install to go ( I have 3 drives).

I'd rather use an ACARS system rather then a manual pirep but I don't see any other option. I don't know how I did it previously (sadly only 2 flights) as I have flown for the other VA for some time.

Any help greatly appreciated!

OK, see if this will work for you.  Do you have another computer or laptop that you don't use for Flight Sim?  If so, you can install the version 1.0.1.1 from the TWVA FLEET, New Arrivals Section on it.

If so, I believe it installs to C:\FS-Products folder.  Copy that folder to one of your data drives of your Flight Sim Computer (preferably not the drive with your newer version of kACars installed on it).  Then try launching the kACARS.exe from that folder (as administrator) to see if it will let you setup a VA Profile for TWA and use that launch location for the v1.0.1.1 that the TWA site requires.

I was able to do that on my non-FS computer and get it to launch and connect to the TWA site.  However, it does not have flight sim on it to test connection to the simulator.  I believe it will work, as I think kACARS looks at the registry to tell it where Flight Sim is installed.  All of its' settings regarding VA and user profiles are stored in a config file of whatever folder you are running kACARS from.

Hey guys I have flown with yall for a bit now.  Trying to reinstall kacars but keep getting connection error message after putting in my pilot ID and password.  I followed the about post to the letter.  Any suggestions thanks.

OK ... since these prior posts, TWVA has shifted from the http:// type web to the https:// type web.

As such check you VA Profile setting to see if includes that and right mouse click on the program and select run as administrator  ..

Yes, just use the digits of your PILOT ID, 2116 in your case.
Password should be the one you set to login to the main TWVA website.

hey guys, sorry for necroing this but i haven't been able to find the answers anywhere online.

i havent flown (or atleast havent used kacars) in a good while but was trying to use it today cause i wanted to get back in the "hotseat" again persay but im getting a connection error and this popup. ive tried the solutions here to no avail and the only other solution ive seen mentioned online is to call up your ISP which i cant do cause im on a somewhat shared network and the provider is less than helpful cause of something about blank headers.

so was just wondering if yall had any ideas on how to fix this? cause i cant try redownloading kacars or seeing if theres an update or whatever cause it seems the dude behind it has close the website due to not having time to develop it anymore.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I've experienced instability in the TWVA Website which has "hangered" my planes.  If the site is acting up, kACARS will not connect and if connect, will lose connectivity.  It makes flying and recording one's difficult.  I want to fly for TWA, but the instability has made it not practical.  Once the site is running consistently, I'll be airborne again.
