THE LOUNGE / Re: KACARS problems popping up again - Thur 23 July

That was me trying to find the problem. I made it display all errors, so I could see what was going on.

Guys, I am doing my best to solve this, but having no luck. The problem is, I am leaving on a camping trip in the morning and I have to get ready to go tonight. I will do my best, but I can't make any promises. I think I have fixed the manual pireps, so use that for now, I guess. Alternatively, can someone try FSACARS and report back if that's working? It would be a big help for sure. Thanks.

Glad it worked for you. Thanks for your patience with me.

That helped. It should be working good now. We swapped over to a secure website and some of the calls for JavaScript functions still had the non-secure URL's and that won't work. The Add Bid function was one of those calls. You should be fine now. Thanx for pointing it out.

Darren,
Where are you on the site and what are you trying to do when you get the error?

Got it, I think. The module that runs kACARS and that was on the new server  was an old one that I left there when I tried to do a server change last year. I have upgraded it now. Try it now. I highly recommend that you use https://fly-twva.com as your Base URL. It keeps everything from prying eyes, and with all the kids home from school now, there will be a lot of Script Kiddies playing around now.

Did you change the URL setting from http to https?

Well, a lot of people have been praying that it wouldn't come to this, but it has. As most of you know, I had a tumor removed from my bladder in Feb. 2016, and because it was only in the lining and not the muscle, followed it up with two years of treatments that are designed to keep it from returning. Since then, I have been undergoing close monitoring very frequently.

Last February, a mysterious growth showed up and a biopsy was done that showed it to be benign. Another cystoscopy this summer showed more unusual growth, so back we go for another biopsy. This time not so good.

While still cancer, it is different. The first was a tumor which is an outgrowth. This time it is what doctors refer to as "flat cancer." It is more or less a lesion. The good news is, it has not gone into the muscle, so it is treatable. It was removed during the biopsy, so further surgery should not be needed, but the bad news is, I will have start those treatments all over again, and at the end of the first round, it was very painful. It's not like I have a choice, though, so treatments I will do.

I have already had prayer answered. The VA has a new program called CHOICE, that allows me to go to a private practice in Savannah to have these treatments, only an hour away at most, as opposed to driving to Charleston, SC which is at least two and a half hours away. The VA is still footing the bill, whew!

So, I covet your prayers, and I know my Lord will take care of me through it all. My verse in the midst of it all is Rom 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Wow, that's scary. Glad you are on the mend, but please don't do that again!

The login issue is fixed. It was a remnant of the server swap. Sorry about that.

Nothing to report, and I just got hit with a monumental task at church. Can't complain, I have been praying for it.

If you are a forum member and have tried to log in using the login in the upper right hand corner, you probably are aware that it just gives you an error message. Yeah, we are aware of it too. Sorry, but I don't have a fix for it yet. However, your good buddy Marty has found a work-around:

"Try clicking on the word 'login' in the phrase "Please login or register" in the upper right corner.

This carries you to the forum login page.  Re-enter your password there and click the box 'Always stay logged in:'"

Then click "Login", and you'll be good to go.

Sorry for the hassle, but things are always changing with the code that runs this complex forum, and this old feeble mind just can't keep up anymore.

THE LOUNGE / Server change
« on: November 29, 2018, 11:34:00 AM »
Over the course of the next few days both Ozark and TWVA will be undergoing a server change. You should not see any difference in either website, but we do need your help. If you fly over the course of the next few days, hold your PIREPs until the all clear is given. You can file them if you want, but there is a chance that they will go into a black hole in cyberspace, never to be heard from again.

Also, do not post to this forum until cleared as the same thing will happen to your post. We hope to have this done soon, so as to cause as little disruption as possible.

MUMBLE (Our voice client) / Re: Tutorial
« on: November 09, 2018, 09:34:25 PM »
Hi Chris,
There is an issue with the server right now. I need to research it, but right now I can't. I have to go to South Florida next week to close on my Mom's trailer so we can settle her estate. Perhaps when I get back, I can take care of this for you. There have been very little activity on Mumble for at least the past year, so it's not like you are missing out on the action. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get online. Maybe you can encourage others to get on, and have a good time like we used to do.

Brian
