Used the TWAFREE flight option to speculate on a US Navy charter flight from KORF - EGLL with the POSKY 747-100.  If you haven't flown into KORF, I highly recommend it.  Lots of bridges, ships, and port to provide landmarks to the approaches.

Inbound flight from KDFW to KORF with the CS727-100 ... passing over the ship yards at Newport News / Hampton VA area:

The TWAFREE option on FRI-SAT-SUN is a great way to pick a bird, origination, and destination.  Use it a lot to do flights that I have taken in real life ... adds just that little bit more to the sim.  8)

Bit the bullet for the Flightbeam KSFO-HD package for Prepar3D.  In simple terms, Ho-Ho-HO, I am jolly. :)

Interesting with that solid red tail.  Like the engine stripes as well.

The 767-200 we have in the fleet downloads have those stripes and it really makes it shine.

Early evening arrival at KORD with an Ozark CV-240 from KSTL.
Am rusty on my radial procedure and started this flare a little too soon.  Thank goodness for the heavy duty landing gear.

Lots of company AI traffic out of KBOS tonight.
ATC said, "Hold Short."

So I did so on the tail of the ERJ-145, "Barbie Dream Jet".  Had barely got the wheels up when a message came over the company frequency .... "TWVA1191 report to management on arrival."  Guess I pissed Barbie off.   :o

I have never seen a breakdown of the number of passengers carried by specific models of aircraft.  Would be very interesting taking into account the number of aircraft built, seating density. number of airlines world wide that had adopted the model, etc.  My money would be that the DC-9 / MD80 series would be in the upper areas of that list.  A true industry workhorse that continues to provide a design base / spark for other manufacturers.

Couple of shots from schedule flight TWA1254-A, service from Portland to Los Angeles.  Was never sure which came first ... this livery, or Tylenol.  :D

"...... and don't call me Shirley!"

"Airplane" is one of the few movies I make an attempt to watch on DVD every year.   :)  It's what I call a classic.

Until recently, I had always thought that it was an original script.  Not so.   :o

My wifey is Turner Classic Movie fan, and I recently watched a 1957 movie called , "Zero Hour".  A very bad, low budget disaster film.  However, the entire script, story and dialog <minus the comic inserts>,  is repeated in the movie "Airplane".  The whole cast is there and the wife and I added the "Airplane Zingers" to the back side of this 1957 drama presentation.  The dialog even contains the phase .... "I picked the wrong week to quit smoking.   LOL

Check it out if you get the chance ..... a really dud movie until you make the connection.

Filed a complaint with the FBO at KSFO relating to a Global Freightways 747-400.  I substituted a Thomas Ruth DC-10 for an L-1011 flight from KORD-KSFO tonight, and dang if it didn't catch the fancy of a Global Freightways heavy on the same path.  ATC cleared me for 22R takeoff and about 10 seconds later cleared the Global flight for 28R.  Sucka followed me all the way!

Sniffing around:

Maybe a former Blue Angels pilot?:
