THE LOUNGE / TWVA1191 Gets a New Co-Pilot

The 1st grandchild for TWVA1191 has arrived and taxied to gate. Laurence Michael Barnes touched down on 9/9/2017 at 7lbs 12oz and 20.5" long!

Daughter-in-law, Son, and baby all doing great. Praise God for the miracle of life.

I shall call him, Sir Laurence.

Found an update for the OpenSky 748i for Prepar3D. Filename was: b748i_lufth.zip. Popped the Steve McBee textures in from the fleet down load, and low and behold:

LineUp for takeoff at KBOS:

13 degrees of nose up, 20 degrees flap on lift off: (aka Up, Up, and Away TakeOff)

Swapped birds at TNCM to continue on to SVMI ... (google that destination airport code)

GALLERY / Clint Eastwood Impersonation

My approach into KSTL tonight in the baby DC-9-15 came in a little hot. Remembered the scene from the movie "Space Cowboys" where Clint Eastwood 'kept the nose' a little high on the space shuttle till the last minute .... and then dropped the nose. That and what I call the 'Dumbo Ear' flaps on the 9 greased her in to take the top slot on the May Ozark Top Landing board.

Somebody come knock me off the hill.

Did a flight from KPIT - KEWR with routing by High-Altitude airways. Route had a couple of corkscrew tight turns that were closely spaced. Knew this little lady would love it, as she looks good when she turns.

After troubleshooting some equipment issues, needed to run some test flights that had been failing before.
Taxi out at KDFW bound for KBOS;

A shame the El-Ten didn't survive and evolve to still be around today:

Push Back at KBOS early morning to KORD:

For those of you that may use externally powered USB hubs ... be wary of them. My 'smoking gun' turned out to be this device, which may have been compromised by some pretty severe electrical storms that have passed thru since Christmas. Problem symptoms were: controllers quit working, system clock not holding correct time, more than the occasional blue screens, and the every popular .. "this program has stopped working and needs to be closed".

After a couple of attempts, a little bit of frustration, and a combination of 4-letter colorful metaphors .... got the Quality Wings 757-200 into the new P3D v3.3 install. Took her out on a TWAFREE flight from Manila (RPLL) to Tokyo (RJTT). It made all the effort worthwhile.

Early evening arrival to 22R KLIT in an MD83 from KSTL. The JetStream Designs KLIT I find highly accurate, (as a native).

3-quarters mile, 1191 has the ball.
