I know the 5-star hotel on the opposite end of the beach from that bar lost 300 of its 600 rooms in Hurricane Irma. There were no 747s that day (dang it) so there was minimal fence riding. I'm too old for that anyway.

« Last post by Jim Sims/TWA2144 on May 27, 2022, 11:38:04 PM »I was there a few years ago! The 1st AC I rode the fence on was the KLM 747. Do they still have bars at both ends of the beach? One bar was really nice with a gift shop and a ATC scanner in lieu of mood music. The other bar was barrels with wooden planks as the bar top. I was afraid the hurricane, (I forget the name), wiped both of them out.

A couple of weeks ago, the dream I never dreamed came true.
