Back in the saddle - long hospital stay
« on: October 14, 2019, 04:08:25 AM »
I am finally at home and somewhat functional after nearly a month of intense hospitalization.

I am nearly 77, and had my left knee replaced in 2015. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the replacement got infected and I was in serious trouble when I realized I needed to go to an emergency room. Lost a lot of blood, seriously septic, in ICU for 2 weeks, 11 transfusions, heavy antibiotics etc.

My total recovery will take a few more weeks. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by my inability to file weekly summaries.

Wow, that's scary. Glad you are on the mend, but please don't do that again!

Even in 2019 infections are still a very serious thing.  So thankful that your case is on the upswing.

Take it easy and let your body heal.  If you need any help with anything around KJFK, just give me a shout.  It's always an honor to serve and even more so for one of our veterans.  <Salute>

Yikes! That does not sound like fun at all. Glad everything is healing now though. Let us know if you need help with anything.
